New research trends aim to contribute to improving knowledge on the role lipids in the biological matrix, understanding the impact of climate change in marine organisms, and developing new tools for chemophenotyping, traceability, and biomarkers of trophic chains in marine ecosystems, such that the nutritional value or prospective bioactive compounds can be disclosed for health applications. "Lipids in the Ocean 2021" (http://lipids2021.web.ua.pt) was originally planned to be held at the University of Aveiro and ran from 5 to 7 July 2021 (and was ultimately an online conference due to uncertainties regarding the COVID-19 situation). The aim was to go in deep into research interests covering topics related to lipids from marine organisms, such as marine lipidomics, lipids as biomarkers in trophic webs, green lipids from the ocean (seaweeds, microalgae, and macrophytes), marine lipid biotechnology, and seafood traceability using lipids-from basic research to sustainable production and applications in the food, nutraceutics, feed, cosmetics, and pharma industries. This Special Issue welcomed not only attendees of "Lipids in the Ocean 2021" to publish their latest research outcomes but also all researchers in relevant fields to share their exciting works with the community.Public health and preventive medicinebicssc13C artificial enrichment20:5n-3 (EPA)22:6n-3 (DHA)algaeaquafeedsbioactivitybioavailabilitybiofoulingbiomass recyclingbrown adipose tissuebrowningcentral metabolismchitosan nanoparticlescompetitionconstraint-based modelCrassostrea gigasCrypthecodinium cohniidesaturasesDHAdiatomdietary resourcedietary supplementsdinoflagellate extractdocosahexaenoic acidelongasesencapsulation efficiencyenergy expenditureEPAfatty acidsFTIRFTIR spectroscopyfungal endophytesglycolipidsIMTAkinetic modelKrebs cyclekrill oillaminarialeslipidomicsloading capacitylong-chain PUFA synthesismacroalgaeMytilus galloprovincialisn-3 fatty acidn-3 PUFAn-3/n-6 rationutraceuticalsomega-3 fatty acidomega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acidsoxidative stabilityParadendryphiella salinaphospholipidsPKS pathwaypowdered fish oilseaweedsTGATisochrysis luteauncoupling proteinwhite adipose tissuePublic health and preventive medicineDomingues Maria do Rosárioedt1278411Soudant PhilippeedtDomingues Maria do RosárioothSoudant PhilippeothBOOK9910585935703321Lipids in the Ocean 20213013235UNINA04356nam 22006615 450 991048418900332120250717134805.09789462096653946209665110.1007/978-94-6209-665-3(CKB)3710000000249582(EBL)1973916(OCoLC)893673614(SSID)ssj0001354181(PQKBManifestationID)11758996(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001354181(PQKBWorkID)11323555(PQKB)11503751(MiAaPQ)EBC1973916(DE-He213)978-94-6209-665-3(OCoLC)892610618(nllekb)BRILL9789462096653(PPN)181350319(MiAaPQ)EBC31254225(Au-PeEL)EBL31254225(OCoLC)1545113229(EXLCZ)99371000000024958220140923d2014 u| 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrLeaders in Social Education Intellectual Self-Portraits /edited by Christine Woyshner1st ed. 2014.Rotterdam :SensePublishers :Imprint: SensePublishers,2014.1 online resource (268 p.)Leaders in Educational StudiesDescription based upon print version of record.9789462096646 9462096643 Includes bibliographical references at the end of each chapters.Preliminary Material /Christine Woyshner -- Introduction /Christine Woyshner -- Legacies of the Chat-N-Nibble /Keith C. This collection is comprised of reflections on the professional trajectories of nineteen leading social studies scholars. Demonstrating that their professional interests have emerged from their autobiographies, the scholars write about their personal influences, professional choices, and contributions. The book reveals how social justice, difference and diversity, and a commitment to the ongoing project of democracy have been central to their work. The chapters in this volume reveal leading social educators’ determined sense of urgency about making the world a better place through their leadership in the field. Each essay provides students, practitioners, and researchers alike with background on the nineteen scholars. Also, the scholars provide lists of their favorite publications as well as the works of other scholars that influenced them. Taken together, the chapters in this volume offer thoughts on the past, present, and future of social studies.Leaders in Educational StudiesEducationEducationEducation.Education.300.71370Woyshner Christineedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtNL-LeKBNL-LeKBBOOK9910484189003321Leaders in Social Education2845546UNINA
