It reviews the required standards and technologies that have emerged-or are just emerging-in support of such new services, with a focus on encoding mechanisms formats and the buildout of the transport infrastructure. While there is a lot of academic interest in various intrinsic aspects of 3DTV, service providers and consumers ultimately tend to take a system-level view. 3DTV stakeholders need to consider the overall architectural system-level view of what it will take to deploy an infrastructure that is able to reliably and cost-effectively deliver a commercial-grade quality bundle of multiple 3DTV content channels to paying customers with high expectations. This text, therefore, takes such a system-level view, revealing how to actually deploy the technology.Presented in a self-contained, tutorial fashion, the book begins with a review of 3DTV in the marketplace and the opportunities and challenges therein. Recent industry events related to 3D are also discussed. From there, the fundamental visual concepts supporting stereographic perception of 3DTV/3DV are explained, as are encoding approaches. Readers will understand frame mastering and compression for conventional stereo video (CSV) and more advanced methods such as video plus depth (V+D), multi-view video plus depth (MV+D), and layered depth video (LDV).Next, the elements of an end-to-end 3DTV system are covered from a satellite delivery perspective, with explanations of digital video broadcasting (DVB) and DVB-handheld. Transmission technologies are assessed for terrestrial and IPTV-based architecture; IPv6 is reviewed in detail. Finally, the book presents 3DTV/3DV standardization and related activities, which are critical to any type of broad deployment.System planners, the broadcast TV industry, satellite operators, Internet service providers, terrestrial telecommunication carriers, content developers, design engineers, venture capitalists, and students and professors are among those stakeholders in these services, and who will rely on this volume to discover the latest 3D advances, market opportunities, and competing technologies.3DTV content capture, encoding and transmission :building the transport infrastructure for commercial services3-D televisionTelevision broadcasting3-D television.Television broadcasting.621.388Minoli Daniel1952-535872MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK99108266857033213D television content capture, encoding, and transmission4200795UNINA05634nam 22008175 450 991048449210332120251226203828.03-319-16468-610.1007/978-3-319-16468-7(CKB)3710000000379645(SSID)ssj0001465492(PQKBManifestationID)11903558(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001465492(PQKBWorkID)11471737(PQKB)10554204(DE-He213)978-3-319-16468-7(MiAaPQ)EBC6306564(MiAaPQ)EBC5588137(Au-PeEL)EBL5588137(OCoLC)905214052(PPN)184894964(EXLCZ)99371000000037964520150314d2015 u| 0engurnn|008mamaatxtccrEvolutionary Computation in Combinatorial Optimization 15th European Conference, EvoCOP 2015, Copenhagen, Denmark, April 8-10, 2015, Proceedings /edited by Gabriela Ochoa, Francisco Chicano1st ed. 2015.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2015.1 online resource (XII, 235 p. 41 illus.) The 19 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 46 submissions. The papers cover methodology, applications and theoretical studies. The methods included evolutionary and memetic (hybrid) algorithms, iterated local search, variable neighbourhood search, ant colony optimization, artificial immune systems, hyper-heuristics and other adaptive approaches. The applications include both traditional domains, such as graph coloring, knapsack, vehicle routing, job-shop scheduling, the p-median and the orienteering problems; and new(er) domains such as designing deep recurrent neural networks, detecting network community structure, lock scheduling of ships, cloud resource management, the fire-fighter problem and AI planning. The theoretical studies involved approximation ratio, runtime and black-box complexity analyses.Theoretical Computer Science and General Issues,2512-2029 ;9026Numerical analysisAlgorithmsComputer scienceMathematicsDiscrete mathematicsComputer scienceArtificial intelligenceNumerical AnalysisAlgorithmsDiscrete Mathematics in Computer ScienceTheory of ComputationArtificial IntelligenceNumerical analysis.Algorithms.Computer scienceMathematics.Discrete mathematics.Computer science.Artificial intelligence.Numerical Analysis.Algorithms.Discrete Mathematics in Computer Science.Theory of Computation.Artificial Intelligence.005.432Ochoa Gabrielaedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtChicano Franciscoedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910484492103321Evolutionary Computation in Combinatorial Optimization4206794UNINA
