"Waziristan, USA" : effects in the United States -- Paths to be considered -- Border, frontier, line ... sanctuary.Since 2006, when Mexican President Felipe Calderon declared war on the drug cartels, there has been a rise in the number of Mexican nationals seeking political asylum in the United States to escape the ongoing drug cartel violence in their home country. Political asylum cases in general are claimed by those who are targeted for their political beliefs or ethnicity in countries that are repressive or are failing. Mexico is neither. Nonetheless, if the health of the Mexican state declines because criminal violence continues, increases, or spreads, U.S. communities will feel an even greater burden on their systems of public safety and public health from "narco-refugees." Given the ever increasing cruelty of the cartels, the question is whether and how the U.S. Government should begin to prepare for what could be a new wave of migrants coming from Mexico. Allowing Mexicans to claim asylum could potentially open a flood gate of migrants to the United States during a time when there is a very contentious national debate over U.S. immigration laws pertaining to illegal immigrants. On the other hand, to deny the claims of asylum seekers and return them to Mexico where they might very well be killed, strikes at the heart of American values of justice and humanitarianism. This monograph focuses on the asylum claims of Mexicans who unwillingly leave Mexico rather than those who willingly enter the United States legally or illegally. To successfully navigate through this complex issue will require a greater level of understanding and vigilance at all levels of the U.S. Government.Mexico's "narco-refugees" Asylum, Right ofRefugeesUnited StatesImmigrantsUnited StatesNarco-terrorismMexicoCartelsMexicoNational securityMexicoNational securityUnited StatesCrimeMexicoMexicoPolitics and governmentAsylum, Right of.RefugeesImmigrantsNarco-terrorismCartelsNational securityNational securityCrimeKan Paul Rexton1064896Army War College (U.S.).Strategic Studies Institute.GPOGPODOSOCLCQGPOBOOK9910693401603321Mexico's "narco-refugees"3402024UNINA01311nam 2200373Ka 450 991069778150332120081028140244.0(CKB)5470000002391155(OCoLC)263915388(EXLCZ)99547000000239115520081028d2007 ua 0engtxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierGiving the bounce to counterfeit check scams[electronic resource][Washington, D.C.] :Federal Trade Commission, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Division of Consumer and Business Education,[2007]4 unnumbered pages digital, PDF fileFTC facts for consumersTitle from title screen (viewed on Oct. 28, 2008)."January 2007."Check fraudUnited StatesMail fraudUnited StatesSwindlers and swindlingUnited StatesCheck fraudMail fraudSwindlers and swindlingUnited States.Federal Trade Commission.Division of Consumer and Business Education.GPOGPOBOOK9910697781503321Giving the bounce to counterfeit check scams3103465UNINA01749nam0 22004093i 450 TO0189579320231121125846.0882142359X20141030d1997 ||||0itac50 baitaitz01i xxxe z01nDSM-4.: casi cliniciapplicazioni cliniche del Manuale dignostico e statistico dei disturbi mentalia cura di Robert L.
