It provides an account of dependency relations by focusing on the representation and interpretation of referentially dependent elements, particularly regular reflexives, logophors, and pronouns. First, the establishment of dependency is discussed within a model of syntax-discourse correspondences that predicts an economy-based dependency hierarchy contingent on the level of representation at which the dependency is formed as well as the internal structure of the dependent element and its antecedent. Secondly, the model's predictions are substantiated by a series of experimental studies (conducted in English and Dutch) providing evidence from three sources of online sentence comprehension: reaction time studies, Broca's aphasia patient studies, and event-related brain potential studies. The findings show that dependencies are established at distinct levels of linguistic encoding (i.e. syntax or discourse) determined by the presence or absence of coargumenthood and the representation of the dependency-forming elements.Linguistik aktuell ;Bd. 80.Grammar, Comparative and generalSyntaxDiscourse analysisRealization (Linguistics)Dependency grammarGrammar, Comparative and generalSyntax.Discourse analysis.Realization (Linguistics)Dependency grammar.415Burkhardt Petra598245MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910961512103321The syntax-discourse interface4345145UNINA01603nam0 22003493i 450 VAN0024463020251114022041.459N978981158493020220412d2020 |0itac50 baengSG|||| |||||i e bcrCondensed and Melting Droplet Behavior on Superhydrophobic SurfacesDoctoral Thesis accepted by Tsinghua University, Beijing, ChinaFuqiang ChuSingaporeSpringer2020XIII, 138 p.ill.24 cm001VAN001041932001 Springer thesesrecognizing outstanding Ph.D. research210 BerlinSpringer2010-SGSingaporeVANL000061620.1Scienze dei materiali22530.4175Film sottili22ChuFuqiangVANV1997921059180Springer <editore>VANV108073650ITSOL20251121RICAhttps://rd.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-981-15-8493-0E-book - Accesso al full-text attraverso riconoscimento IP di Ateneo, proxy e/o ShibbolethBIBLIOTECA DEL DIPARTIMENTO DI SCIENZE E TECNOLOGIE AMBIENTALI BIOLOGICHE E FARMACEUTICHEIT-CE0101VAN17NVAN00244630BIBLIOTECA DEL DIPARTIMENTO DI SCIENZE E TECNOLOGIE AMBIENTALI BIOLOGICHE E FARMACEUTICHE17CONS e-book 2221 17BIB2221/270 270 20220412 Condensed and melting droplet behavior on superhydrophobic surfaces2504540UNICAMPANIA
