La fibra, prodotta a partire da legname, risulta interamente biodegradabile. Dato che il pigmento minerale è aggiunto durante il processo di lavorazione della fibra, l’effetto non viene perduto a seguito dei ripetuti lavaggi, e la protezione fornita è maggiore di quello garantita dai comuni tessuti parasole. Nel corso delle prove effettuate, è stato raggiunto un livello di protezione pari a 110 UPF (Fattore di Protezione dai raggi ultravioletti). A causa della particolare funzione svolta dal rigonfiamento delle fibre, l’effetto di schermo solare non diminuisce durante la pratica sportiva, anche nel caso che il tessuto venga inumidito o subisca uno stiramento (i tessuti convenzionali arrivano a perdere fino alla metà della propria capacità schermante in tali condizioni). Inoltre, il prodotto garantisce buona gestione dell’umidità corporea, eccezionale piacevolezza sulla pelle e ridotta proliferazione dei batteri. Il diametro delle fibre è di 1,3 dTex, con un allungamento relativo del 12%. Il materiale può essere lavorato mediante varie tecniche di filatura. Yet despite this, Nigeria achieved strong economic growth for over a decade in the 21st century, driven largely by policy reforms in non-oil sectors. This book argues that Nigeria's major development challenge is not the 'oil curse', but rather one of achieving economic diversification beyond oil, subsistence agriculture, informal activities, and across its subnational entities. Through analysis drawing on economic data, policy documents, and interviews, Usman argues that Nigeria's challenge of economic diversification is situated within the political setting of an unstable distribution of power among individual, group, and institutional actors. Since the turn of the century, policymaking by successive Nigerian governments has, despite superficial partisan differences, been oriented towards short-term crisis management of macroeconomic stabilization, restoring growth and selective public sector reforms.
