Dès ses débuts, le jeune dramaturge s’est forgé dans et par la presse une personnalité publique, dans tous les sens du terme. Sa trajectoire est celle d’un engagé volontaire dans l’espace médiatique, où il occupe presque tous les postes : critique dramatique, chroniqueur, feuilletoniste, historien du contemporain, correspondant de guerre, intarissable causeur. De fortes convictions animent cette écriture en mouvement perpétuel : Dumas défend l’idéal démocratique d’une littérature authentiquement populaire, engagée dans les combats du présent, et intensément interactive. A letter-writer, Alexandre Dumas became a journalist by temperament and passion. From the very beginning, the young playwright has forged himself into a public figure in every sense of the word in and through the press. His career path is that of a volunteer in the media space, where he occupies almost every position: drama critic, columnist, serialist, historian of the contemporary, war correspondent, inexhaustible talker. Strong convictions drive this writing in perpetual motion: Dumas defends the democratic ideal of an authentically popular literature, engaged in the struggles of the present, and intensely interactive. |
