En los últimos veinte anos, la "violencia" ha venido a ser el marco interpretativo principal de la narrativa contemporánea hispanoamericana. Se aplica a fenómenos culturales y temas literarios muy diversos. Con la violencia como punto de fuga común, los articulos de este libro abordan narraciones creadas en varios contextos regionales: Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Perú... Las perspectivas abiertas por ellos ejemplifican, sin embargo, la diversidad metodológica vigente en esta área del hispanismo. Asi, este marco interpretativo permite el diálogo de los estudios literarios con otras disciplinas que se dedican a la violencia: antropologia, filosofia, historia, politologia, sociologia...
