Note generali

Edward Sexby and Silius Titus are actually authors of this work published under the name William Allen. Allen, adjutant-general of the army in Ireland, was, like Sexby, a trooper in Cromwell's own regiment and was one of the agitators elected in 1647.  Cf. C.H. Firth, "Killing no murder," in English historical review, v. 17 (1902), pp. 308ff.

Reproduction of original in the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library.
