Het idee dat liefde en macht elkaar niet per definitie uitsluiten begint steeds meer gemeengoed te worden. Achter het waas van de romantiek kunnen onzichtbare machtsstructuren schuil gaan. Veel mensen voeren in hun liefdesrelatie een haast constante - zij het niet altijd bewuste - machtsstrijd. Van gelijkwaardige partners is lang niet altijd sprake.Aafke Komter ging op zoek naar deze processen van machtsuitoefening in relaties.
