En 2008, on a beaucoup évoqué et commémoré l'année 1968. L'année 1969 n'a pas la même renommée et pourtant elle mérite, elle aussi, l'attention des chercheurs, ne serait-ce qu'en raison d'un certain nombre d'événements qui sont autant de ruptures ou de nouvelles étapes à l'intérieur de différents processus. En Europe, Willy Brandt, Eward Heath (1970), Bruno Kreisky (1970), Olof Palme, Georges Pompidou, mais également Marcelo Caetano et Gustav Husak arrivent sur le devant de la scène. Ces remplacements de responsables constituent-il de véritables ruptures idéologiques, générationnelles ou socioculturelles ?
