Churches gathered against Christ and his kingdom. Or, A petition answered [[electronic resource] ] : wherein, is plainly shewed how the petitioners go about to take the kingdom, care of his servants, and propagating of his Gospel out of the hand of Christ, and would put it into the hands of the powers of the earth, contrary to the words of Christ, and practice of all the saints in Scriptures, laid open that all who fear the Lord, may search the Scriptures and withdraw from the tents of these wicked men, and their covetous practises. Also, a word to those to whom this petition is preferred, that above all they meddle not in the kingdom of Christ, for all that have done it, or shall do it shall be broken to pieces, for he alone will reign, and all flesh shall cast their crowns at his feet, even so amen. Written by one whom the world knows by the name of James Nayler

Sommario/riassunto

This textbook provides an introduction to development economics that examines both the drivers of economic growth and sustainable development. It initially presents development economics within a historical and political context, before widening its attention to theories of growth and development, the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals, the imbalance of power between the Global North and South, global development policies, and the role of international finance in development. Rather than focusing primarily on neoclassical growth theories, qualitative and quantitative aspects of the development process are both highlighted. This book aims to give readers a broad understanding of the economic drivers of development and the economic theories that underpin them. It will be relevant to undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in development economics and sustainable development. Marco Missaglia is Professor of International Macroeconomics at the University of Pavia. Gianni Vaggi is Professor of Economics and Management of Cooperation and Development at the University of Pavia.
