Note generali

In verse.

A selection expanded from "Certaine small poems lately printed", 1605.

Printer's name from STC.

Signatures: [par.] A (-A8) B-V.

The first leaf is blank except for signature-mark "[par.]".

Leaves A1-7 bear divisional titles and dedications to "The tragedie of Cleopatra" and "Musophilus". A8 (recto catchword "The") is intended to cancel O7 (recto catchword "As"). The majority of copies have A1-7 bound after quire [par.]; A8 is cancelled and original O7 remains. Although not the intent of the printer, this is the configuration given in the pagination and collation above.

"The tragedie of Philotas", "A letter sent from Octauia to her husband Marcus Antonius into Egypt", "The tragedie of Cleopatra", "The complaint of Rosamond", "Musophilus", and "The Queenes Arcadia" each have separate dated title page; register is continuous.

The page after 104 is numbered 673.

Identifed as STC 6241 on UMI microfilm reel 678.

Reproductions of the originals in the Folger Shakespeare Library and the Henry E. Huntington Library and Art Gallery.

Appears at reel 678 (Folger Shakespeare Library copy) and at reel 1199 (Henry E. Huntington Library and Art Gallery copy).
