Une trajectoire hors du commun : prêtre par tradition familiale, aumônier chez les SS par conviction religieuse. Lorsque Louis Firenes part pour le front de l'Est, son père, pourtant fervent patriote, lui dit : "Où il y a des femmes et des hommes qui souffrent et meurent, il faut un prêtre." Ce professeur dans un collège catholique, en accompagnant en Russie les jeunes légionnaires wallons, ne fait que ce qu'il considère comme son devoir : être là où la présence d'un prêtre est nécessaire. A ses yeux, il fallait un aumônier catholique pour accompagner les volontaires wallons du front de l'E. |
