• Sommario/riassunto: Das Prämonstratenserstift Marchtal, 1171 von Pfalzgraf Hugo II. von Tübingen gegründet, lag in einem Raum, in dem in der zweiten Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts heftige territorialpolitische Auseinandersetzungen stattfanden. Die Untersuchung der „Marchtaler Fälschungen" erschließt neue Quellen, die die Auseinandersetzungen von Bischof Heinrich II. von Konstanz und seinen Vorgängern mit den entlang der Donau vordringenden Habsburgern beleuchten. Graf Wilhelm von Tübingen-Böblingen-Asperg, Herr des Tübinger Eigenstifts, hatte seinen Tätigkeitsschwerpunkt in die ihm bei der Erbteilung zugefallene Herrschaft Gießen verlagert. Er verpfändete den Bischöfen das Stift Marchtal, das weder er noch seine Söhne auslösen konnten. Marchtal, ; nun Konstanzer Eigenstift, wurde territorialer Stützpunkt in einen Gebiet mit altem hochstiftischen Besitz, der erweitert werden sollte. Die Ausweitung der Marchtaler Rechte und deren Verteidigung gegenüber Habsburger Ansprüchen führten zu einer außergewöhnlich umfangreichen Fälschungsaktion von Urkunden und Siegeln. Nach dem Bischofswechsel von 1206 führten die Prämonstratenser die Fälschungen fort, um sich, zumindest teilweise, von der Gewalt des Eigenkirchenherrn zu lösen. Erstmals wird eine gründliche Untersuchung der Marchtaler Fälschungen vorgelegt und in den Kontext der Kirchen- und Landesgeschichte gestellt.; The Premonstratensian Chapter of Marchtal, founded in 1171 by Palatine Hugo II of Tübingen, was geographically situated at the locus of major territorial and political conflicts in the second half of the 13th century. The investigation of the "Marchtal Forgeries" uncovers new sources that help cast light on the conflicts of Bishop Heinrich II of Constance and his predecessors with the Habsburgs as they advanced along the Danube.
