Note generali

Title from caption and opening lines of text.

Imprint suggested by STC (2nd ed.).

Refers to the Star Chamber decree (23 June 1586) as "aboue 17. yeares past" and ineffective and is probably related to "an Act for the good of the Company" which R. Field and others were appointed to pursue on 27 March 1604; see Court Book C, p. 6. The "Honors" addressed may have been the Coporation of London. Cf. STC addenda.

Reproduction of original in: Society of Antiquaries of London. Library.

Sommario/riassunto

Requesting "your Honors fauourable furtherance" of a bill to reform abuses in printing by limiting the number of master printers, etc.--STC addenda.
