"Abuses in quartering contrary to Proclamation 25 Aug. 1685, ... still persist. No officer or soldier shall be quartered in any private house, except by consent. Not to choose their own quarters. Every officer shall have one bed, soldiers two in a bed. Officers and soldiers shall not take bribes to give up their quarters. Persons injured, who do not get instant redress from the commanding officer, are to lay depositions before the magistrate to forward to the King. Officers to pay 6d. per mile for each wagon of carriage employed." -- Steele.
