Angesichts einer Vielzahl langanhaltender bewaffneter Konflikte im arabischen Raum wird der Bedarf an Strategien zur nachhaltigen Konfliktberuhigung offensichtlich. Die Autorin geht auf diesen Bedarf ein, indem sie zwei arabische Mediatoren beleuchtet, die erfolgreich in den komplexen Interessengeflechten arabischer Konflikte vermitteln. Das Vorgehen der Mediatoren soll für aktuelle und zukünftige Konfliktmediationen nutzbar gemacht werden. Auf kultursensible Art und Weise werden die Mediation des Königs von Marokko im Mali-Konflikt und die Mediation des Sultans von Oman im Jemen-Konflikt untersucht, wobei die Sicht der Monarchen auf aktuelle globale |

Herausforderungen deutlich wird. Es werden Erfolgsfaktoren abgeleitet, überprüft und Handlungsanleitungen erarbeitet. So ergeben sich Ansätze für die Entwicklung von Strategien zur Steigerung von Wirksamkeit und Nachhaltigkeit in Konflikttransformationsprozessen sowie Anregungen zum Abbau der Spannungen zwischen der westlichen und der arabischen Welt. Unter anderem werden gewaltfreie Wege zur Terrorismusbekämpfung aufgezeigt und Demokratisierungsprozesse in der Region Middle East North Africa sowie eine globale Ethik diskutiert. |
