"Mercurius rusticus" appeared originally in 1643 as a newsbook in numbers.  "A brief chronology" (i.e., Mercurius Belgicus) was issued in 1645 under the title "Englands Iliads in a nut-shell"  Cf. Hazlitt.

Includes "Querela Cantabrigiensis," by John Barwick, and "Mercurius Belgicus, or, A briefe chronology ...," by George Wharton, with special t.p.  Cf. DNB.
