Clement Walker, in his History of independency, p. 32, states that Col. Nathaniel Fiennes is the real author of this work, but "his assumption is not supported on any evidence. It is probably based on the fact that Anglia rediviva justified the conduct of Fiennes in surrendering Bristol in 1643." Cf. DNB.
