|
Il problema dell’anima è cruciale per il primo cristianesimo. Vi è, da un lato, la nuova autorità delle Sacre Scritture; dall’altro, quel ricco patrimonio filosofico pagano con cui un apologeta non può fare a meno di confrontarsi. Tertulliano ci offre in quest’opera una visione dell’anima che non finisce di sorprenderci. Essa, apprendiamo, è corporea ma immortale; di più, è generata insieme con il corpo al momento del concepimento; infine, se il suo distacco dal corpo avviene in seguito al martirio, il suo accesso in Paradiso è immediato. Filosofia, medicina, Sacre Scritture sono tutte chiamate in causa a sostegno di queste tesi che presto sarebbero state considerate eretiche. (Fonte: editore) |
