Four hefty volumes contain the proceedings of the four specialty conferences which comprised the August 1996 conference--the 13th such conference known by the acronym "ICPR," a biennial meeting of the International Association for Pattern Recognition. Selected from close to 1,000 submissions were 11 invited talks, 63 oral presentations in each specialty conference, and a total of 452 posters. The volumes focus as follows: v.1: computer vision; v.2: patterna recognition and signal analysis; v.3: applications and robotic systems; and v.4: parallel and connectionist systems. No index.
