Sommario/riassunto

The founding of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen was based on a largely new concept, which, based on the spirit of the Enlightenment, was based on tolerance and was against all extremism and secretarialism. The Faculty of Medicine was committed to this principle from the start. Through the training model of practical-clinical teaching at the bedside, which she represented, it was possible to set decisive impulses in the construction phase, which were trend-setting for medical training beyond Göttingen. The Medical Faculty thus made a significant contribution to establishing the international fame of Georgia-Augusta. The outline with its multi-layered reality provides insights into the self-image, self-perception and self-portrayal of the medical faculty in its history.
