• Sommario/riassunto: For Plato, the daemonic is a sensibility that brings individuals into contact with divine knowledge; Socrates was also inspired by a 'divine voice' known as his 'daimonion.' Goethe was introduced to this ancient concept by Hamann and Herder, who associated it with the aesthetic category of genius. This book shows how the young Goethe depicted the idea of daemonic genius in works of the Storm and Stress period, before exploring the daemonic in a series of later poetic and autobiographical works. Reading Goethe's works on the daemonic through theorists such as Lukács, Benjamin, Gadamer, Adorno, and Blumenberg, Nicholls contends that they contain arguments concerning ; reason, nature, and subjectivity that are central to both European Romanticism and the Enlightenment. ANGUS NICHOLLS is Claussen-Simon Foundation Research Lecturer in German and Comparative Literature at the Centre for Anglo-German Cultural Relations in the Department of German, Queen Mary, University of London.

• Sommario/riassunto: Le 700e anniversaire de la mort de Dante, en 2021, a vu se multiplier les initiatives scientifiques, et plus largement culturelles, liées au poète florentin dans le monde entier. Le Centre d'études supérieures de la Renaissance de Tours a également souhaite contribuer à la célébration du poète en poursuivant une tradition vivante et féconde d'études dantesques, dépassant l'espace chronologique ‒ de Pétrarque a Descartes ‒ indique pour le Centre depuis sa création en 1956 et ainsi confirmant, si besoin était, le rôle de Dante en tant que classique au-delà des frontières et des bornes temporels et critiques. Ces Lectures , loin de renouer avec la tradition des Lecturae Dantis traditionnelles, ont été imaginées avec la volonté de présenter un échantillon, certes restreint mais varie, d'un certain nombre de pistes de recherche sur Dante qui sont parcourues par les chercheurs ces dernières années. Les dix contributeurs, de formation et de provenance de tout horizon ‒ Luigi Spagnolo, Anthony de Araujo-Rousset, Maria Maślanka-Soro, Gaia Tomazzoli, Luigi Tassoni, Raffaele Pinto, Franziska Meier, Alessandro Benucci, Francesco Ciabattoni, Bruno Pinchard ‒, en sont le temoignage. L'ambition de ces lecturae, fut-ce sur une petite echelle, etait de montrer que différentes façons de lire Dante existent. Sabrina Ferrara est maître de conférences en littérature italienne du Moyen Âge et de l'Humanisme à l'Université de Tours et au Centre d'études supérieures de la Renaissance. Ses intérêts sont orientés vers la littérature italienne du Moyen Âge et de l'Humanisme, en particulier Dante Alighieri, portant notamment sur les textes latins, la poésie politique et l'épistolographie latine. Actuellement, elle concentre ses recherches sur Boccace et le premier humanisme. Gaia Tomazzoli est chercheuse en linguistique italienne à la Sapienza Université de Rome. Ses recherches portent sur Dante, sur la rhétorique médiévale et sur les humanités numériques.
