Zwischen 1855 und 1857 schuf der Düsseldorfer Maler Theodor Mintrop (1814-1870), Mitglied der renommierten Künstlervereinigung „Malkasten“, ein 72 Seiten umfassendes Album mit lavierten und aquarellierten Zeichnungen für die aus Bielefeld stammende Minna Bozi, geborene Rose. Dieses Album befand sich bis 1964 in Familienbesitz und wurde dann dem NRW Staatsarchiv in Detmold zur Verwahrung übergeben. Dort entdeckte Margaret A. Rose 1997 das Album und erkannte die besondere Qualität der Mintropschen Zeichnungen, die auf den heutigen Betrachter wegen ihres spielerischen Umgangs mit kunstgeschichtlichen Zitaten und Anspielungen Verfahrensweisen der „Postmoderne“ vorwegzunehmen scheinen. Im vorliegenden Band, mit dem das Album erstmals der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert wird, liefert Margaret Rose neben der gründlich recherchierten Entstehungsgeschichte des Albums kenntnisreiche |
