Peripheral cultures have been largely absent from the European canon of historiography. Seeking to redress the balance, Monika Baar discusses the achievements of five East-Central European historians in the nineteenth century: Joachim Lelewel (Polish); Simonas Daukantas (Lithuanian); Frantisek Palacky (Czech); Mihaly Horvath (Hungarian) and Mihail Kogalniceanu (Romanian). Comparing their efforts to promote a unified vision of national culture in their respective countries, Baar illuminates the complexities of historical writing in the region in the nineteenth century. |

Am 24.04.2016 war er endgültig besiegelt, der fünfte Abstieg von Hannover 96 aus der 1. Bundesliga. Nach 14 Jahren im Oberhaus gehörte Hannover zu den Etablierten der Liga – und dennoch war der „BuLixit“ keinesfalls überraschend, sondern deutete sich von langer Hand an. Jürgen und Mirko Blut, leidenschaftliche 96-Anhänger, analysieren in ihrem vorliegenden Buch, wie es dazu kommen konnte. Sie decken auf, dass der Abstieg nicht allein die Folge sportlichen Misserfolgs war, sondern die folgerichtige Konsequenz aus wirtschaftlichen und strategischen Fehlentscheidungen. Detailliert und faktenkundig stellen Blut und Blut dar, welche Faktoren den sportlichen Niedergang der Roten begleiteten: Verfehlte Jugendarbeit, ein unattraktives Image von Stadt und Klub, eine negative Transferbilanz sowie das Fehlen einer in die Zukunft gerichteten Strategie für die sportliche und wirtschaftliche Weiterentwicklung. Es ist den Autoren eine Herzensangelegenheit, den Abstiegsprozess nicht nur rückwärtsgerichtet zu begleiten, sondern Wege aufzuzeigen, wie zukünftig die wirtschaftliche und sportliche Stabilität hergestellt werden kann, um ein Comeback der 96er in der deutschen Eliteliga zu ermöglichen – in der Hoffnung auf bessere Zeiten für Hannover 96. |
