• Sommario/riassunto: Over the last two centuries and indeed up to the present day, Eastern Europe's lands and peoples have conjured up a complex mixture of fascination, anxiety, promise, and peril for Germans looking eastwards. Across the generations, a varied cast of German writers, artists, philosophers, diplomats, political leaders, generals, and Nazi racial fanatics have imagined (often in very different ways) a special German mission in the East, forging a frontier myth that paralleled the American ; myths of the 'Wild West' and 'Manifest Destiny'.

Poussée par une démographie galopante, la population en âge de travailler augmente à un rythme exponentiel ; celui des économies à générer des emplois décents est beaucoup plus lent. De manière générale, l'Afrique est un endroit où il est difficile de trouver un poste de qualité et la situation peine à s'améliorer. Les jeunes et les femmes font face à des problèmes d'employabilité, à de longs délais et à la précarité du travail disponible. L'entrepreneuriat peut jouer un rôle important non seulement dans l'insertion professionnelle des jeunes et des femmes, mais aussi dans l'essor économique de l'Afrique francophone. D'où l'intérêt g randissant porté à cette question tant par le monde universitaire que politique. Si les États savaient comment mettre à profit la volonté entrepreneuriale des jeunes et des femmes, ils pourraient s'engager dans une véritable transformation économique qui mènerait à un développement durable.
