In einer weiten räumlichen Perspektive werden die spanischen Niederlande, Schlesien, Ungarn und Wien als Hauptstadt der Monarchie in den Blick genommen. Neun internationale Fachbeiträge beschäftigen sich mit frühneuzeitlicher Diplomatie, Gelehrsamkeit, Medienrezeption sowie der Wiener Stadt- und Baugeschichte und reflektieren aktuelle methodische Fragen.
