The Ninth AusIMM International Open Pit Operators' Conference 2016 was held in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia from 15-16 November. Participants included mine operators, supervisors, technical service professionals, planners, researchers, innovators, regulators, equipment and service suppliers and consultants. The formal program covered the topics of automation and technology, geotechnical developments, blast fragmentation and other mine to mill issues, transition to underground, cutbacks, stockpile management, life-of-mine planning, closure, stakeholder engagement, social licence to operate, regulatory requirements and better overall industry practices. |
