The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) developed a plan to protect endangered large whales from entanglements in commercial fishing gear, which can cause injury or death. As whales continued to die, revisions to the plan were proposed in 2005. This book discusses these issues and the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA). |
