Sommario/riassunto

"Theological librarianship represents one of the oldest and most complex branches of librarianship. However, in spite of its rich and significant role and history, the topic is in many parts of the world a poorly researched area. In this first volume, we have attempted to offer a general and religiously balanced approach, and this will be our goal also in the future volumes. But because of a lack of published comparative, cross-country and intercultural research, and contacts with local experts in some parts of the world, we could not offer at this time a more global contribution. This is the reason for example why we are missing contributions from the Middle East and some parts of Asia in this volume. I hope the published texts in this volume will inspire more comparative research and connections in these parts of the world, so in the future, we can have a more complete new edition."
