The first type deals with settings, such as a hospital care setting or a primary care setting; the second is related to health and disease (i.e. to patients); the third type of process aims at assisting in decision making and therapy and evolves in the brains of health care professionals. Sommario/riassunto

A Genealogy of the Cyborgothic imagines a new literary genre

emerging from gothic literature and science fiction that will help to envision a cyborg-friendly, non-anthropocentric posthuman society. Dongshin Yi introduces mothering as an aesthetic and ethical practice that can enable a posthumanist relationship between human and non-human beings as he examines novels like The Mysteries of Udolpho and Arrowsmith alongside philosophical and critical works by Edmund Burke, William James, and others.
