Sommario/riassunto

The four essays in this volume present an overview of current issues in studies of the book of Job. The opening essay, by Williams, deals with major aspects of Joban research: new commentaries, Near Eastern backgrounds, textual criticism, language and vocabulary, literary criticism, dating problems, and theological ideas. The remaining essays focus on specifics from within Williams' overview. Craigie discusses the impact of Ugaritic language and literature on studies of Job. Cox is concerned with textual criticism of Job, primarily with regard to the Septuagint.
