In diesem Buch wird über Disziplinengrenzen hinweg der Zusammenhang zwischen Zeiterfahrung und der Ontologie, dem Sein der Zeit thematisiert.Die Zeitphilosophie des 20. Jahrhunderts ist durch eine methodische Spaltung gekennzeichnet: Die Phänomenologie thematisiert das Zeitbewusstsein, während in der angelsächsischen Welt die analytische Philosophie sich den metaphysischen Fragen zum Sein der Zeit widmet.
