• Sommario/riassunto: Si l'esthétique classique a promu le « je ne sais quoi », difficile à définir et expliquer précisément, mais dont la grâce peut conduire au sublime, peut-être Balzac a-t-il élevé au titre de grand art moderne et mis au cœur de sa création un « je ne sais quoi de romanesque [...] qui sied aux âmes exaltées ».
