Over a four-day period, Tuesday through Friday of Holy Week 1943, as Irena becomes increasingly traumatized by her situation, Malecki questions his decision to shelter Irena in the apartment where Malecki, his pregnant wife, and his younger brother reside. More than one million people in the United States are fully blind or legally blind, suffering impairments from retinal and macular degeneration to eye loss. And as America with Baby Boomers and beyond ages, the numbers of legally blind will double.
