|
ROTOЯ is a two-year programme of exhibitions, public events and talks at Huddersfield Art Gallery featuring the transdisciplinary work of art and design staff from the University of Huddersfield. Now in its second year, ROTOЯ showcases a community of artists, designers and curators whose ideas and connective practices migrate and span artistic production, techno-design research, craft and cultural studies. ROTOЯ is located at the pivot between art and design disciplines and society, where points of intersection and engagement are considered and debated from multiple perspectives. The programme signals a unique partnership between Huddersfield Art Gallery and the University of Huddersfield to present a broad spectrum of practices and dialogues. Each exhibition features a number of public events in the form of artist/designer and curator talks. |

In diesem Untersuchungsprozess hat Palmbout Urban Landscapes ein eigenes Profil entwickelt, nicht nur auf dem Gebiet der Beziehung von Städtebau und Architektur, sondern vor allem bezogen auf die gegenseitigen Wechselbeziehungen von Städtebau, Landschaftsanalyse und -entwurf sowie Infrastruktur. Das Buch dokumentiert innerhalb von sechs Themenblöcken ca. 15 Projekte, unter denen so umfangreiche sein werden, wie Amsterdam Ijburg - die Gestaltung einer urbanen Ausdehnung von Amsterdam mit einer Gesamtfläche von 450 ha Neuland, mit 18.000 Wohnungen, 100.000 m2 Bürofläche, 30.000 m2 Ladenfläche sowie weiteren Einrichtungen, oder auch Maastricht Belvedere - die Restrukturierung einer ehemaligen Industriefläche von 280 ha mit 4.000 Wohnungen, 100.000 m2 Bürofläche, Parkanlagen und einer Verkehrsbrücke |
Founded in 1990, Palmbout Urban Landscapes is now one of the leading urban planning offices in the Netherlands. It exemplifies current practices of urban planning in that country. Its approach is characterized by a constant search for a new relationship between urban planning, architecture, and landscape architecture. In this process of experimentation, Palmbout Urban Landscapes has established a profile not only in the field of the relationship between urban planning and architecture but above all in terms of mutual interactions between urban planning, the analysis and design of landscape, and infrastructure. The book documents some fifteen projects organized into six thematic blocks, including such extensive projects as Amsterdam Ijburg, a design for an urban extension to Amsterdam with a total area of 450 hectares, 18,000 residences, 100,000 square meters of office space, 30,000 square meters of stores, and other facilities, and Maastricht Belvedere, a restructuring of 280 hectares of a former industrial site with 4,000 residences, 100,000 square meters of office space, parking lots, and a vehicle bridge. |
