Kinderfilme gelten als Nische, Dokumentarfi lme für Kinder als Nische in der Nische. Es verwundert nicht, dass sie bislang kaum Bestandteil wissenschaft licher Forschung sind. Dennoch können Dokumentarfi lme für Kinder Potenti ale für Medienbildungsprozesse in sich tragen. So themati sieren und vermitt eln einige von ihnen fremde kindliche Lebenswelten und machen sie für ihre Rezipienten nachvollziehbar. In der medienpädagogischen Forschung steht dabei allerdings meist die normati v pädagogisch sinnvolle Art und Weise im Fokus, die danach fragt, wie ein Kinderdokumentarfi lm sein müsse. André de la Chaux geht einen anderen Weg und untersucht in seiner Studie anhand unterschiedlichster Filme, wie Kinderdokumentarfilme ihren Gegenstand inszenieren und wie sie funktionieren. Ausgehend von der Frage, wie Interkulturalität im Dokumentarfilm für Kinder inszeniert wird, entwirft der Autor zu Beginn eine Theorie der Interkulturellen Medienbildung. Aufbauend auf diese Theorie analysiert er dann mit Hilfe der neoformalistischen Filmanalyse und der Grounded Theory Kinderdokumentarfilme, die Lebenswelten von Kindern anderer Kulturkreise thematisierten. Dabei arbeitet er heraus, dass Filme durchaus das Potential für Medienbildungsprozesse in sich bergen, aber auch vorurteils- und klischeefördernd sein können. De la Chaux arbeitet dabei interdisziplinär auf der Schnittstelle interkultureller Bildung und Medienpädagogik und eröffnet für beide Disziplinen neue Perspektiven und Ansätze. Seine Studie wurde mit dem medius 2014 der Freiwilligen Selbstkontrolle Fernsehen (FSF) ausgezeichnet. |
