|
L'expression « relations communautaires » est couramment utilisée pour désigner les relations sociales entre les catholiques et les protestants d'Irlande du Nord. La désignation peut surprendre : on sait que la ségrégation et les tensions n'ont pas cessé, malgré les avancées politiques réalisées en faveur de la paix, et la signature de l'Accord dit du Vendredi Saint le 10 avril 1998. Cet ouvrage s'interroge sur ce qui se cache derrière ces contradictions apparentes. Il décrit d'abord les espaces dans lesquels s'insèrent les relations sociales entre les catholiques et les protestants d'Irlande du Nord (l'espace résidentiel, les établissements scolaires et universitaires, les structures sportives, etc.). Il analyse ensuite les mécanismes relationnels qui sous-tendent les rapports communautaires (les représentations mentales, le rapport à l'équité et le jeu des pouvoirs). Il étudie enfin les programmes dits de « relations intercommunautaires » destinés à favoriser le rapprochement |
