Die Diversität der Bildungsbiografien und Lebenslagen von Studieninteressierten nimmt zu, während Hochschulen meist konzeptionell auf eine homogene Studierendengruppe ausgerichtet sind. Wenn insbesondere zur Sicherung des Fachkräftebedarfs neue Zielgruppen für ein Studium gewonnen werden sollen, stellen sich Fragen nach Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten an Hochschulen zur Förderung der Bildungsdurchlässigkeit, der Anrechnung außerhochschulischer Kompetenzen, der generellen Kompetenzorientierung sowie der Flexibilisierung von Studienmöglichkeiten.
