The theme of the October 2000 conference is preserving and enhancing the value of software. The 30 papers presented at the conference discuss the nature of preventive maintenance, reverse engineering, re-engineering, program analysis, and management. The topics include recovering class diagrams from data-intensive legacy systems, restructuring program identifier names, C/C++ conditional compilation analysis using symbolic execution, and support for system evolution through separation business and technology issues in a banking system. Case studies are also furnished, such as a survey of black-box modernization approaches for information systems. No subject index. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR. |
