Læsning har stor betydning for børn og unges dannelse og uddannelse i et moderne demokratisk samfund. At knække læsekoden tillægges både politisk, pædagogisk og personligt en betydning, der rækker langt ud over det læsetekniske. Alligevel har en del børn og unge modvilje mod at læse og udvikler ligefrem undvigestrategier, og mange finder ingen glæde ved at læse.Læse- og litteraturforsker Thomas Illum Hansen kortlægger de drivkræfter, der henholdsvis hæmmer og fremmer læsning. Han kombinerer litterære, filosofiske, psykologiske, sociologiske og sociokulturelle studier af læsning og præsenterer en model for, hvordan vi kan tale om det, der engagerer eller bevæger os, når vi læser. Bogen er et sammenhængende bud på, hvordan lærere, vejledere og bibliotekarer med afsæt i et nuanceret sprog om læsningens drivkræfter kan bidrage til, at flere børn og unge bliver del af en stimulerende og skabende læse- og skrivekultur. |
