• Sommario/riassunto: "Welche ist die Definition dessen, was den Namen 'Seele' trägt? Haben wir eine andere als die eben angegebene: 'die Bewegung, die sich selbst bewegen kann'?" (Lg. 895e). Die Seele gewinnt als Prinzip der Selbstbewegung und der Lebendigkeit in Platons Spätwerk und infolgedessen auch im Platonismus eine tragende Bedeutung. Ihre Verknüpfung mit dem Bewegungsursprung und der Unsterblichkeit weist ihr eine Mittlerfunktion zwischen dem intelligiblen und dem ; wahrnehmbaren Kosmos zu. Dieser Kongressband, der die gesammelten Beiträge einer im Oktober 2014 in Salerno organisierten Tagung enthält, widmet sich somit einem der zentralen Desiderate der Platonforschung: Ein adäquates Verständnis von Platons Begriff der Seele und ihres Verhältnisses zum nous, ihrer Definition als Selbstbewegung und ihre Verknüpfung mit der Lebendigkeit ist von großer Bedeutung für eine kohärente Gesamtinterpretation von Platons Spätwerk, die auch die lange vernachlässigten Nomoi integriert. Die Autoren des Bandes beschäftigen sich mit der Frage nach der Seele mit Blick auf ihre Verbindung zur intelligiblen Welt, ihre Erkenntnisfunktion, ihre kosmische und ihre politisch-soziale Dimension sowie aus der Sicht der Rezeption der Thematik in der Antike und Moderne.; "What is the definition of that which is named ‘soul?’ Can we give it any other definition than that stated just now: ‘the motion able to move itself?’" (Laws 895e). The essays in this volume touch upon the central theme in Plato’s late dialogues of the soul as the principle of self-motion and vitality. • Sommario/riassunto: Nach der Zuspitzung der Krise in Jugoslawien nach 1989 versuchte die österreichische Außenpolitik, einen Beitrag dazu zu leisten, die bewaffneten und ethnischen Konflikte zwischen den Völkern in Jugoslawien, insbesondere in Bezug auf die zunehmende Verschlechterung der politischen Lage im Kosovo, zu entschärfen und die internationale Staatengemeinschaft darauf aufmerksam zu machen. In dieser Hinsicht nahm Österreich im Vergleich zu vielen anderen europäischen Staaten eine Vorreiterrolle ein und unternahm zahlreiche Initiativen zur Internationalisierung der Kosovo-Frage. Die aktive Rolle Österreichs in der Kosovo-Frage manifestierte sich in einer Frühwarnfunktion. Diese Studie analysiert die aktive Rolle Österreichs in der Kosovopolitik, als erster europäischer Staat - aufgrund seiner geographischen Nähe und seiner historischen und wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen - wiederholt die Kosovo-Frage auf die Tagesordnung der europäischen Außenpolitik gebracht und auf die dramatischen Entwicklungen im Kosovo hingewiesen zu haben. Österreich bewies eine besondere Kompetenz sowie eine gewisse Themenführerschaft in der Kosovopolitik und konnte so in vielfacher Hinsicht Unterstützung für den Kosovo leisten. As the crisis in Yugoslavia came to a head after 1989, Austrian foreign policy sought to help defuse the armed ethnic conflicts between the peoples of Yugoslavia, especially in relation to the worsening political situation in Kosovo, and to draw the attention of the international community to these issues. In this respect Austria led the way in comparison with other European states and took many initiatives to make the Kosovo question an international concern. Austria's active role in the Kosovo question proved to be an early warning system. This study analyses Austria's active role in policy towards Kosovo, as the first European state - because of its geographical proximity and historic and economic relations - to repeatedly put the Kosovo question on the agenda of European foreign policy and to draw attention to the dramatic developments in Kosovo. Austria demonstrated a special expertise and a degree of leadership in the issue of policy towards Kosovo and was thus able to win support in many areas for Kosovo.
