His research has been funded by the Australian and Irish Research Councils and Ireland Canada University Foundation. Sharna Wiblen is Assistant Professor at the Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong, Australia. بعد طرد المسلمين من الأندلس، أرسلت الدول الأوروبية تباعاً رحّالة إلى الشرق لاستكشاف دروبه التجارية وتقصّي أحواله السياسية والاجتماعية والتعرّف إلى الإسلام، وذلك تمهيداً لحركة الاستعمار.+++صنّف هؤلاء الرحالة الذين تخرّج معظمهم في مدارس كهنوتية أو عسكرية كتباً تناولوا فيها أخبار رحلاتهم بشكل يمازج بين الحقيقة والخيال مصوّرين سكانها شعباً متوحشاً فاسداً جنسياً، أدنى ثقافةً وتحضراً.+++يخلص هذا الكتاب إلى أنّ أدب الرحلة الغربية قام على أسس صليبية استعمارية عنصرية عُنيت بتوجيه الرأي العام الغربي لتحقيق أهداف وغايات بعيدة عن مصالح المنطقة وشعوبها. |
