Seit 150 Jahren ist das Corpus Scriptorum Ecclesiasticorum Latinorum (CSEL, Universität Salzburg) um die Erforschung und im Besonderen um die Edition lateinischer patristischer Texte der Spätantike bemüht. Der vorliegende Sammelband stellt die Bandbreite philologischer Arbeit, wie sie am CSEL und in dessen Rahmen heute geleistet wird, exemplarisch dar: Er umfasst einerseits Beiträge zu unterschiedlichen Aspekten der Editionstätigkeit des CSEL, die von Fragen zur Methodik des Edierens bis zur Präsentation neuer Ergebnisse zu einem bisher verloren geglaubten spätantiken Evangelienkommentar aus der ersten Hälfte des 4. Jahrhunderts (Fortunatian von Aquileia) reichen. Andererseits werden neue textphilologische, im weitesten Sinn interpretatorische Ansätze zu Fragen der spätantiken patristischen Literatur vorgestellt. Die Artikel beschäftigen sich u.a. mit Tertullian, Fortunatian von Aquileia, Ambrosius, Prudentius, Augustinus, Hieronymus, Eucherius, Gregor von Nazianz und mit monastischen Texten. |
