Les métropoles fascinent et inquiètent. D’un côté, elles apparaissent comme des sources inépuisables de créativité humaine, lieux de modernité et de tolérance. De l’autre, elles représentent la démesure, par leur expansion continue, et l’inégalité, par la ségrégation entre les populations qu’elles abritent. Ensuite, la perspective internationale adoptée rend justice à la particularité des contextes locaux : de Lima à Johannesburg en passant par Lille, les métropoles ne sont pas uniformes. Ce d’autant plus que les acteurs institutionnels, économiques ou politiques oscillent entre régulation publique et ouverture au marché, dans des rapports de force qui se reflètent sur l’occupation et l’appropriation des espaces. Enfin, on ne saurait oublier que les citoyens ordinaires et les groupes sociaux ne sont pas dociles. Ils font vivre la ville en contournant les frontières qui se dressent et en occupant des espaces où on ne les attend pas : jeunes de La Havane ou de Gennevilliers, femmes saoudiennes ou Roms à Saint-Denis, tous réclament leur droit à la ville. |

On croit souvent que les interventions en psychomotricité se cantonnent à une salle de mouvement munie de multiples objets comme des ballons, foulards, cerceaux et plots. Toutefois, au-delà d’activités thérapeutiques, l’expertise psychomotrice s’inscrit aussi au cœur de la collectivité grâce à des modalités novatrices et variées. En mettant le corps et le mouvement sur le devant de la scène, l’approche psychomotrice, déployée dans des contextes communautaires, sportifs, éducatifs, pédagogiques ou de loisir, offre l’opportunité d’appréhender un processus de prévention prévenante. Les dispositifs présentés dans ce livre promeuvent des expériences propices au développement de la personne, tant en termes d’estime de soi, de pouvoir d’agir, que de capacité à entrer en relation. L’interprofessionnalité qui émane de ces pratiques - comme but en soi ou inscrite dans un cadre institutionnel - est une forme de réponse à la complexité des situations sur les terrains. Les chercheur-e-s, les professionnel-le-s et les étudiant-e-s des domaines de la psychomotricité, du travail social en général, de la petite enfance et des milieux sportifs trouveront dans ces contributions des exemples de prévention émancipateurs et insolites. |
