Poder constituyente a debate: perspectivas desde América Latina presenta diferentes perspectivas que ilustran diversos entendimientos sobre la manera como los procesos de cambio constitucional se construyen a partir de interacciones entre normas jurídicas, instituciones estatales, ideas jurídicas y políticas, procesos socio-económicos y actores sociales. Cada uno de los ensayos reunidos en estas páginas estructura su análisis desde perspectivas teóricas distintas: algunos ponen un mayor énfasis en los procesos políticos que explican los cambios constitucionales, otros se concentran en la forma como los actores institucionales juegan con ideas como la del poder constituyente y algunos más utilizan teorías políticas para explicar lo que ha significado el cambio constitucional en diferentes países de América Latina. Esta diversidad de perspectivas le muestra al lector que la historia del cambio constitucional en los países latinoamericanos es un rompecabezas complejo que difícilmente puede ser abordado íntegramente.
