Sommario/riassunto

This book is the first biography of Ted Strong Jr., a two-sport athlete of the Negro Leagues and the Harlem Globetrotters. Born Theodore Relighn Strong Jr. in South Bend, Indiana, the eldest of 14 children, Ted was raised in the Black Belt of South Side Chicago. He was one of the original Harlem Globetrotters and a major star in the Negro Baseball Leagues. This biography displays the determination of a man who excelled despite the odds experienced by African Americans in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.
