La Grammaire comparée permet ainsi de mieux comprendre non seulement les convergences et les divergences entre les français d'Amérique du Nord, mais encore l'évolution linguistique propre à chacune de ces variétés; en outre, cet ouvrage permet de dégager des conclusions sur le français parlé dans le Nouveau Monde aux XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles. |
This comparative grammar of Acadian and Louisiana French is the first extensive description of the varieties of French spoken in Canada and the United States of America. The analyses presented in this volume, taking into account diachronic and variational aspects, are based on a large corpus of existing and newly gathered linguistic data. Grammatical structures of the varieties under scrutiny are compared with each other as well as with those of European French. |
