Das Lexikon des polnischen Adels im Goldenen Zeitalter 1500-1600 beinhaltet 120 Biogramme der bedeutendsten Vertreter des Adels in Polen im 16. Jahrhundert. Jedes der Biogramme ist um eine einführende Literaturliste ergänzt. Für Osteuropahistoriker ist das Buch eine »Goldgrube« für die Zeit des »Goldenen Zeitalters« in Polen. Man findet dort nicht nur biografische Daten, sondern auch Informationen über die Genealogie, Wappenkunde, religiöse Ansichten, Kunst und Kultur und nicht zuletzt eine besondere geografische Komponente mit einer genauen Erklärung der Lage der im Buch beschriebenen Orte und Provinzen. Die beigefügten Tabellen, Karten der Rzeczpospolita sowie der Besitzungen der Magnaten in Polen-Litauen und einige Abbildungen der adeligen Schlösser sowie der Familienwappen ergänzen das ungewöhnlich reichhaltige Buch - ein Lexikon, das (nicht nur) für jeden Osteuropahistoriker eine handliche und praktische Hilfe darstellt. |
