Cette note de recherche pose le problème de la restitution de l'objet en anthropologie visuelle, de son utilisation par les populations filmées. Dans le numéro spécial de la revue L'Homme, consacré à l'anthropologie visuelle en 1972, Margaret Mead annonçait le temps où il serait possible de filmer en son synchrone, où le tournage d'un film ne constituerait plus une expédition périlleuse obligeant l'anthropologue à emmener avec lui plusieurs dizaines de kilos de matériel ... En quelques décennies, les conditions de tournage des anthropologues visuels ont radicalement changé, et la quantité de pellicules à emmener, les savants calculs techniques jadis nécessaires à la moindre prise de vue sont de l'ordre d'un passé qui semble bien lointain. Avec l'usage des micro caméras digitales, l'anthropologie visuelle apparaît sous un nouveau jour et il convient de s'interroger sur la place et la responsabilité de celui qui filme, sur l'usage qui peut être fait des montages vidéos comme interprétations de la culture de l'autre. mots clés : anthropologie visuelle - anthropologie appliquée - savoirs autochtones - restitution - muséographie. |

The use of very small digital cameras throws a new light on visual anthropology, prompting a reflection on the position and responsibility of the person filming, and on how videos may be used as interpretations of other cultures. Este comentario formula el problema de la restitución del objeto en antropología visual y de su utilización para las poblaciones filmadas. Con el uso de las mico-cámaras digitales, la antropología visual se presenta bajo un ángulo inédito y conviene interrogarse sobre el lugar y la responsabilidad de quien filma, sobre el uso que se puede hacer de los montajes videos como interpretaciones de la cultura del otro.
